HANDGUN SELECTION When we introduced this one-day seminar first in 2007, we developed it as a response to students attending our Handgun Safety Seminar with seriously inadequate or very poorly fitting handguns. Now, with the expansion of that seminar to reach individuals who do not yet own guns, we expect this important class will truly come into its own. With the commercial selection of available handguns at an all-time high, the potential for making a bad choice is extreme, but understandable. Come to this one-day program and learn what you need and what you want in a defensive handgun, with lecture about how different guns operate, and the pros and cons of revolvers and semi-automatics. Learn about various calibers, defensive ammunition, handgun reliability, pistol sights and various trigger pull options. On the range, participants will shoot a variety of handguns in calibers .380 ACP, .38 Special, 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. It is not our intent to display all the popular, new handguns, but rather to expose the participant to various pistol calibers and features, leading to an educated decision when buying their next handgun. Prerequisites: Completion of the Handgun Safety Seminar. Students in this class will be required to sign a statement that they are legally entitled to own handguns prior to participation.
