WHERE SHOULD I START MY TRAINING?
Our Handgun Safety Seminar is the easiest way to get started at The Firearms Academy of Seattle, whether you have some shooting experience, or are a new gun-owner needing to get off to a good, safe start. The classroom portion provides gun owners of varying experience levels an overview of Washington and Oregon gun laws, use of force principles, gun safety and safe gun handling techniques. Additional gun safety and marksmanship skills are presented during the afternoon live fire range instruction and coaching. After the range time, our coaches offer the student recommendations on whether they should continue their training in Handgun Selection, Fundamentals of Home Defense, Concealed Carry 101 or Defensive Handgun should they inquire about additional training.
Experienced shooters who already understand their state laws, gun safety and use of force parameters, and who do not wish to attend the Handgun Safety Seminar, are welcome to begin their training at Defensive Handgun.
Shooters with at least 40 hours of advanced handgun training, may be allowed to start at Tactical Handgun, though this is allowed on a case-by-case basis and is approved only after talking with the prospective student. Befiore registering, please email or telephone us to describe your previous training and experience if you would like to start at Tactical Handgun. We will not accept your enrollment unless our records show that you have completed Defensive Handgun or have spoken with us about other qualifications and prior training that prepares you to start at this level.

This material, the affordability of our courses, and our tactical training facility make our classes the best value in both basic and advanced firearms education.
