UTAH CONCEALED CARRY Do you travel and wish you could carry your defense gun in more of the areas you visit? A non-resident Utah Concealed Firearm Permit will allow concealed carry in 33 states. The states offering reciprocity with Utah are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming and of course Utah. A Utah permit is good for 5 years and Utah will send you notification for renewal. The initial permit cost is $65.25, and renewal is $10. Our friend and colleague from Salem, Jim Jacobe, is qualified to teach the Utah CCW class, and we have arranged to bring Jim to F.A.S. so our students can obtain this extremely useful reciprocal permit. Class tuition is $85 (which does not include the permit fee). This class is lecture, video, and demonstration of your skill in unloading and making safe a semi-auto and a revolver (instructor to furnish firearms). Jim will give you all the necessary paperwork to apply for the Utah license, plus his endorsement as your instructor. With the permit application you must also submit a fingerprint card taken by a trained fingerprint technician, a photocopy of your drivers license and a recent color photograph of passport quality. You are responsible for providing these additional requirements (they are not included in the class tuition fee). Utah now requires that permit application must be made within 180 days of completion of class. Turn around time from the time of application to the time of receipt of permit is currently running at 12 to 16 weeks.
