Level 2: Intermediate Scoped Rifle

This 2-day class is designed to allow the hunter, soldier, law enforcement officer or armed citizen to work with their scoped centerfire rifle and compliments our other carbine and rifle curriculum by filling the gap between Rifle Marksmanship Fundamentals and FAS Precision Rifle. Shooting from a bench or prone is great for shooting little groups, but in the field, a bench is usually absent and grass or brush typically negate the prone shot.

Positions will include vertical and horizontal cover positions, along with sitting, kneeling and offhand. This class can be taken with any rifle or carbine. We will be shooting paper out to 400 yards and will have the chance to engage steel out to 600. A magnified optic with either MOA/MIL hash marks or a BDC style reticle will be the main focus of the long distance portion as we will be using the hold over method instead of dialing our turrets.

Prerequisites: Our Rifle Marksmanship Fundamentals or equivalent from another school. While students are welcome to start their training here at FAS in level two, they must have a firm grasp and understanding of the operation of their firearm and basic shooting fundamentals before enrolling.

Student will be required to present background check to prove no felony record, which may include a state-issued license to carry a concealed handgun, military or police identification or other form of background check prior to participation. Call before class if you have questions.
